The LGRRC as an institutiocaterintcapacitdevelopment works, thDepartment othe Interior anLocal Government  (DILG)  heavily  relies  oits  intellectual  capital  to  efficiently  and  effectively  perform  its mandated functions.  Shiftinits role as a capacitdevelopment enabler than a provider,DILG endeavors ttransform itself into a knowledge-centric organization where knowledge, itbehavior and systemof creation,sharing/ learning anutilization are embedded in itorganizational systems anprocesses.  As a strategtbecoming a knowledge-centric organization, thdepartment througthLocal Government Academinitiated the establishmenof thLocal Governance ResourcCenters(LGRCiall itRegional Offices.

 

ThLGRC idesigned tpromote a culture olearning and knowledge sharingto support DILin its role as primary catalyst for excellence in local governance, tharness the roloDILG as knowledge brokers  and  facilitators  of  capacity  development  and  to  facilitate  thintegration  of  knowledge management iDILprocesses and systemtowardbuildinthdepartment as a knowledgcentriorganizationIt applies as key strategies knowledgmanagement,multi-stakeholdership anconvergence.

 

Througthe  assistance  of  the  Mindanao BasiUrban Sector  Services  Project(MBUSSP), DILG Region 13 launched thLocal Governance Regional Resource Center(LGRRC)in November 2007. CharacteristicallyLGRRC–1is a learnincenter which serves as an access poinof knowledgon local governance,an informatiocenter that provides stakeholders witLGdata and resources,and a knowledgcenter olocal governance witdirect access olibrary database.
