The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Caraga Region conducted the “Regional Roll-Out Orientation on Barangay Advocacy on the Prevention of Corruption” last October 29-30, 2018 at Oazis Hotel, Butuan City. The DILG Provincial Directors, DILG Bantay-Korapsyon Focal Persons and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) coming from different places vigorously participated the activity.

This campaign to combat corruption was officially launched last October 3, 2018 at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Manila. The same was in line with the thrusts of the current administration to reduce corruption through information and education campaigns and community organizations and mobilization and is under the supervision of the National Barangay Operations Office (NBOO).

 Furthermore, the activity gained its purpose to mobilize the Civil Society Organizations for this campaign by providing deeper understanding and knowledge about good governance, Anti-corruption legal measures and institutional mechanisms, role and entry points where the CSOs can participate in the prevention of corruption and the guideposts in promoting and sustaining barangay good governance. In addition, the role of the Office of the Ombudsman and the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for this quest was defined and amplified.
