On 14 November 2019, the Constitutional Reform Advocacy Campaign for SK Members and Liga ng mga Barangay Presidents of Caraga Region will take place at Goat 2Geder Hotel and Restaurant, Butuan City. This activity will be spearheaded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government Caraga Region XIII and in close coordination with the Center for Federalism and Constitutional Reform Project Management Office(CFCR-PMO).

The orientation aims to establish formal linkages with Barangay Officials in the Region and ensure that the information campaign activities to be conducted by our partner Civil Society Organizations are with proper coordination with the latter officials. In doing so, we would be able to strengthen stakeholder relationships and convergence among our partner institutions in the pursuit of Constitutional reforms.

In addition, it seeks to educate Barangay Officials on the reasons behind why there is a need to reform the existing Constitution and update them on the Federal tract of this administration.

Furthermore, the event will be graced by seventy-three (73) Sanggunian Kabataan Federation Presidents and seventy-three (73) Liga ng mga Barangay Presidents of Caraga Region. Prof. Alfredo S. Sureta, Jr., a Political Science Professor of the University of the East, Manila and a member of the Inter-Agency Task Force Study Group,is the expected resource speaker tasked to explain the nuances of this noble advocacy campaign.

The DILG Caraga Regional Management Team (RPMT) is hoping for a successful conduct of the orientation. This will signal the start of the many Constitutional Reform Advocacy campaign activities to be conducted in the Region with the sole purpose of spreading awareness about changing the 1987 Constitution.
