The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XIII - Caragaconfers Regional Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Awards to fifty-three (53) Local Government Units (LGUs) for exemplary performance of their Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs) during the CY 2022 REGIONAL ANTI-DRUG ABUSE COUNCIL (ADAC) PERFORMANCE AWARDS held at Dottie's Place and Restaurant, Butuan City on December 2, 2022.

Regional Director Lilibeth A. Famacion, CESO III of DILG Caraga emphasized that the ADAC Performance Award, unlike any other awards, is not only a statement of fame and recognition, but a symbol of effort and dedication of a fight that has known to be a challenge for a decade in our country.

The Local Chief Executives (LCEs) and LGU ADAC Focal Persons, accompanied by DILG City / Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs), DILG Provincial and HUC Directors and DILG Provincial / HUC Focal Persons received the award for the LGU during the Awarding Ceremony.

Of the fifty-three (53) LGUs, three (3) are Provinces, four (4) are Component Cities, forty-five (45) are Municipalities and 1 is a Highly-Urbanized City, to wit:

ADAC Performance Audit has raised the bar of excellence in LGUs in its effort in complementing the national government’s efforts in eradicating the country’s illegal drug problem. It aims to provide recognition to provincial, city and municipal ADACs who have exceptionally performed their duties and responsibilities in planning and implementing their respective anti-illegal drug programs, projects and activities.

This award is to be conferred to LGUs who garnered a high score of 85 points to a perfect score of 100 points with an adjectival rating of ideal (High Functionality) during the Regional ADAC Performance Audit and has passed the three (3) National Awarding Criteria:

1. Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) Functionality (Percentage of total barangays with Highly Functional Barangays);
2. Sustainability of Drug-Cleared of Drug-Free Status; and
3. Reduction of Drug Affectation Status.

The event is the 3rd Regional Awarding Ceremony we have in Caraga that recognizes the performance of our LGUs’ Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs) in the provincial, city and municipal levels beginning last year 2021 covering performance of ADACs in CY 2019, 2020 and 2021.
