The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Caraga Region, as Chair of the Regional Task Force for COVID19 One Caraga Shield (RTF-COCS) – Regional Screening and Validation Committee (RSVC), held the 3RDCaraga RSVC Meeting via teleconference on July 2, 2020 at 9:00 in the morning, presided by RSVC Chairperson and DILG XIII Regional Director, Lilibeth A. Famacion. 

Created by virtue of RTF-COCS Resolution No. 31, Series of 2020, dated 13 May 2020, the Regional Screening and Validation Committee is primarily tasked to process and assess the requests and appeals of LGUs in Caraga region with regards to the implementation of community quarantine in their jurisdictions in accordance with the approved procedure and guidelines.The 3RD RSVC meeting was conducted to deliberate and validate the requests/ appeals of several LGUs in Caraga on their community quarantine classification, including the request of Butuan City Mayor Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada to allow the city government to place 33 barangays of the city under Modified Enhance Community Quarantine (MECQ) due to the increasing number of COVID19 confirmed cases in the city.

The virtual meeting was attended by RSVC Co-chair and DOH XIII Regional Director, Dr. Jose R. Llacuna, Jr., together with the Regional/ Assistant Regional Directors and representatives of NEDA, OCD, PNP, DOLE and DTI, as member agencies. The local chief executives and representatives of LGUs with pending requests with the RSVC were also invited as guests.

After presentation and reasonable discussion and assessment, the committee was able to pass RSVC Resolution No. 2, Series of 2020, providing ruling on the several requests/ appeals of LGUs in Caraga region on its community quarantine classification.
